Arrow RUN ON x RUN OFF

    Hello people!

I'm here again. Now it's about the use of the words "run on" and "run off".

If I ask you "How does it run?", what do you understand? Is this question correct? If I say it to a shopping assistant, would him/her understand what I mean? Should I say "how does it run on/off?" What's difference between 'run on' and 'run off'? When do I use it? I'm scratching my head about it...

    Thanks,

    Falcon

If you are asking a shop assistant who does it run, do you want to know how something works, how you switch on, programme, etc.

You would ask. Please could you tell me how this thing works, could you give me a demonstration.

As for 'run on and run off' not sure what the context is for this!

Do I have to ask "How does it run" or "What does it run"? With this question, I intend to know if a device run on batteries or by powercharge, etc.

    Are those questions correct?

    thanks,

    Falcon
