    Default Maths (binary numbers )

Jourans are from the planet jupiter. Jourons have 7 arms but only 2 fingers on each arm. How do i teach a jouon to count upto 20 in binary numbers?

I hope that you taught Jourans all about multiplication and solving index before teaching him/her binary numbers. :)

I never teach any Jupiteran but I think you can teach him/her like that.

    We know that:

    2^0=1
    2^1=2
    2^2=4
    2^3=8
    2^4=16
    2^5=32
    2^6=64
    2^7=128.
    ......
    ......
    ......

    Jourans's 2 hands have 2 fingures means 2^2 = 4

    So 5 times his/her 2 hands having 2 fingures means : 5 ( 2^2 ) = 5 X 4 = 20

I know it is not very good answer so I will tell you later a professional Math teacher's answer.

I think the code is 00010100, and that the Jouran/Jouron finger count is as follows: 00|10, 10|00, 00|10, or rather, first finger 0, second finger 4, next hand, first finger 16, second finger 0, back to the other hand, first finger 0, second finger 20.

    0x1+0x2+1x4+0x8+1x16+0x32+0x64+0x128 = 20

I'm not sure if that's right, but I tried. :)

    Wouldn't they be called Jupi[ch]urians?

Cas, haven't you got an extra arm there? Would it be 0010100?

Residents of Jupiter are, I think, called Jovians. Of course, there aren't any, so it's a moot point.

    :)
