Hey but it's very simple!! have and has are present simple of to have and so and does are present simple of to do; had and did are the simple past of to have and to do...what's the matter with you??

Today I have,
Yesterday I had.

Look for the time reference- in an exam to test the tense there must be some time reference or clue to tell you whether it's present or past.
