Smile Comment on my son's writing

My son Arthur, aged 13, wrote a short article, and I've corrected his grammatical mistakes. Yet, if you could edit and comment on it, he'll feel much oblidged. Here it is:

Holidays

We have a lot of holidays in a year. How do we enjoy these holidays? How to make the most of these holidays? The following are my opinions.

First, I think we can go hiking with our family because we are busy with our own work during the week. Second, we can go to a Museum or library where we can appreciate some exhibits or read some books of outside readings. Last, I think we can go sightseeing to different places in Taiwan. We've always been living in our city, and that is a little boring. There are a lot of different interesting and beautiful places in Taiwan. So we can check them out and spend our holidays there.

By the way, I'm not so sure of the underlined parts.

exhibits - exhibitions (exhibits are the item in an exhibition)
go sightseeing to different places in Taiwan- I'd drop the 'in different place' or change it to something like 'travel around Taiwan sightseeing'
books of outside readings- unclear- what does your son mean by this?

Thanks, Tdol, for the corrections.

What do you call books other than textbooks? Just outside readings?

Thank you again, for the trouble.
If there are more than one books, is it correct to say extra readings?
By the way, I've heard outside reading a lot; is it interchangeable with extra reading?

Extra/additional/further/suplementary/outside, etc could all be used.

Arthur, you're welcome.
