show relationship between it's object and some other word in a sentence----prepostion
a participle that end in "ing" and function as a noun---gerund
capitalized because they are particular persons, places, and things---proper noun
short way of writing a word consisting of some of the letters in the word followed by a period---abbreviation
to show where the exact words of a speaker begin and end--- apostrope
opposite meanings--antonyms
simliar meaning to another meaning---synonym |

Committee Chairman- I would say that he/she is in charge of the proceedings of a committee President protempore- A senator who presides over the Senate in the absence of the Vice-President suppresses all opposition and controls many aspects of its citizens - I would suggest it controls ALL aspects of its citizens' lives.
