Can anyone enlighten me how we time the verb "dare" in the case of meaning "be brave"? Sometimes we do use the verb with the infinite "to" sometimes without.
Are these tenses OK? Please, can you just skim them?
For first instance [with "to"]:
I dare to go to school. [present active positive]
I do not dare to go to school. [present active negative]
I dared to go to school. [past active positive]
I did not dare to go to school [past active negative]
I have dared to go to school [present prefect active positive]
I have not dared to go to school [present prefect active negative]
For second instance [without "to"]:
I dare go to school. [present active positive]
I dare not go to school. [present active negative]
I dared go to school. [past active positive]
I dared not go to school [past active negative] ?????
I have dared go to school [present prefect active positive]
I have not dared go to school [present prefect active negative]
Thank you all
