Default Re: Why do we learn foreign languages??

I have always been fascinated by foreign languages (and foreign countries for that matter). I was fortunate enough to learn several at school, and taught myself several others. I am particularly interested in languages which have very different structures. One nice thing about being an English speaker is that a lot of people want to practise their English, and are willing to help me learn their own language in exchange.
