Question Analysing language

Hi there
I am studying to teach English at the moment, and am having difficulties trying to complete a task . I need to analyse some phrases in order to teach them, eg I shouldn't have drunk so much. I am required to comment on meaning, phonology, form, use, anticipate problems with the language and then think of what I could do to help students, and establish context.

I can do a lot of this ( I think ), but really need help or advice as to where to look for information on problems with form and pronunciation and how to check undersatanding. Would be grateful for any pointers.
Chis
