Hello teachers,
I am very glad to have found this site!! :)
I was wondering if there is a difference between "made of" and "made from"
or can they be used interchangeably?
Thank you
They can be used interchangeably, yes, but they are different. That difference is subtle:
This box is made of wood. <I carved it out of a wood block>
This box is made from wood. <I built it using wood>
This cone is made from honey. <Some honey was used>
This cone is made of honey. <It's all or almost all honey>
All the best.![]()
