Hi, I want to know if the date, for example, "14th March, 2007" is properly written in British style? Do we need to put the article to make it "the 14th March, 2007"?
If "14 March, 2007" is correct, do we have to read the article "the" when the date is read out?

Use the international standard ISO 8601 style, that way you can't go wrong:
YYYY-MM-DD
Though in letters, I personally like to write it out. e.g. March 16th, 2007, or the way you wrote it above is okay, too. If your word processor allows, use superscript for "th" "rd" "st"
It's really up to you, just as long as it is readable. Don't use: 1/3/07 or 3/1/07, as it can be confusing.
