A warranty has two separate sections: A parts warranty, where the manufacturer will provide a part to replace any defective part in the product, and a labor warranty where the manufacturer will pay a technician to install the part.
If a laptop has a one-year parts and a 90-day labor warranty it means that the manufacturer will pay all repair costs for the first 90 days that you own the computer, but if something fails between day 91 and day 365 then the manufacturer will provide a replacement part at no charge, but you will have to pay a technician to install it.
This is a very common practice in the electronics business.
