Which is correct:
1-They badly beat us.
2-They beat us badly.
If they are both correct, is there a difference in the meaning?
Maybe in one case they defeated us in a match while in the other they beat us up physically.
The second one is correct. The first is not used. "They beat us badly" indicates that the group in question was defeated soundly in some sort of contest. "They beat us severely" might indicate a physical beating.
