    Default referred to as

Does "referred to as" have the same meaning as "is called?"
For instance, James' brand-new car is called JZ80.
Can I replace "is called" with "referred to as", "is known as","is classified as", or "is stated?"

    Thanks!

You can use referred to as or known as. The others aren't used that way.

    :)

Could you tell me the differences between "is called","is known as","is referred to as",etc?
