    Default produce and manufacture

    Hi !

I wonder what the difference between the two verbs "manufacture" and "produce" , does "manufacture something" mean "make something using machinery" while "produce something" mean "make something by hand" ? Is that correct?

    thanks so much!!

If it's a large industrial process, you could use either ( or 'make')- Toyota manufacture/produce/make cars. If it's small-scale, then I wouldn't use 'manufacture'- that furniture shop makes/produces its own chairs. If it's a less industrial product, I'd do the same- the dairy makes/produces cheese.
