What do you call the thing you sit on while taking a ride in a roller coaster? (car, wagon?)

And could I say this:

- The roller coaster cars had already been "launched", but this was noticed only by me?

I would call it a "car".

I don't think I would use "launched" there.

Try: The roller-coaster cars had already started moving, but I was the only one who noticed. :wink:
