Default Odd horse???

okay, so I´m at a jockey club watching a race and I want to bet on a horse that is not the favourite..Can I say that I have decided to bet on the odd horse? Would you native speakers say that ? Cheers in advance.

I wouldn't. If the odds are against it, you could call it the 'outsider'.
