Default A difficult call?

Dear Teachers,

What does "a difficult call " mean when it is used in senteces such as," The dollar - yen (exchange rate ) is a difficult call, " or, changing careers is a difficult call?"

Thank you,

A difficult call is when it is hard to tell what the right answer is.

It doesn't make sense to use it with an exchange rate - that's just a fact.

However, it can be hard to decide whether or not to change jobs. There are advantages and disadvantages to each, so trying to decide what to do can be "a difficult call."

I think this shows the origin of this use of 'call' in the world of gambling - while a coin is spinning in the air: 'You call.' The bet here is on whether the dollar will strengthen or weaken against the yen.
