Hi there,
Do I need a comma in the following sentence:
France is a country, where people like to eat a lot.

Hi Sandra. I would say the comma is not needed as the sentence can be spoken in one breath without pausing.

Not only is the comma not needed, but it shouldn't be there. The phrase "a country where people like to eat a lot" is a noun phrase.
A: Tell me something about France.
B: France is a country where people like to eat a lot.
