What is the difference between 'Technically speaking ...' and 'Strictly speaking ... '?

Strictly speaking, this word is wrongly used.

Technically speaking, this word is wrongly used.

Thanks in advance.

Hi kohyoongliat,

According to an online dictionary

strictly speaking
properly speaking
technically speaking
in the proper meaning of the word

have the same meaning:
"if I want to be completely accurate in what I am saying".

Any native speaker out there with more on that?

Exclamation Re: Technically / Strictly speaking

Right, that's exactly the point. Many English expressions actually have the same meaning. Its just a bigger choice for the more adept to use. Just like instead of saying 'very fat' we say 'obese'. That's why English is a colourful language!!

I am suspicious of your cheating me.

Is the sentence grammatically correct?

Thanks in advance.
