How do I use SEND TO and SEND FOR?

'Send for' : Ask someone to come and help
Example:
I had to SEND FOR a plumber because the radiator was leaking.

You send for someone.
You send something to someone. I sent a letter to my sister telling her I would go and see her as soon as possible.
