Default independent sentences

Can you take the trouble to tell me how many independent sentences there are in "She played football, and I played volleyball, while he rested"?

There are two independent clauses in that sentence. (1) "She played football"; (2) "and I played volleyball while he rested". (No comma is needed there.)
