passing perspective

"History should forever remind us of the limits of our passing perspectives"

The question is about th word "passing". Passing implies short, brief and disappearing after short period of time. But to me, what is passing is not the perspective, but we are passing. So the limits are our perspectives because we don't see things from historic perspectives. Hence passing. Is this correct? I need conformation from native speakers. If this is not right, please provide your interpretation.

Different generations have different perspectives, so they are passing just as we are.
