    Default sentence diagrams

    question.... when diagraming a sentence structure how would I dagram the phrase;


    ......... .Mary ate raw fish and onions ........ <-- raw only applies to the fish

    .....................................raw...........N'.....l..........................Is this diagram correct for the last part of the sentence?

    Well, the problem is the conjunction, actually. It can't branch from an NP. Try, NP => NP CONJ NP, like this,

    [NP raw fish] [CONJ and] [NP onions]
