Smile bring your kids to work day

Are you sure it's bring your kids to work day?

When is that day? And I think it's a good idea for kids to know their parents' working place, but it's a pity that we don't have this practice here.

I think it's during the fourth week in April, but I'm not 100% sure.

Is it a national holiday for kids so that they go to their parents' workplace? Do you support that practice?

It's not a national holiday, per se, but it is recognized as a celebratory day by the schools, so a student can be excused from classes that day to accompany his parent to work.

The holiday (observed on the fourth Thursday in April) started out in 1993 as "Take Our Daughters to Work Day." It was created by the Ms. Foundation as a way to expose young girls to the wide variety of career opportunities available to them. However, a few years later, some folks complained that it was sexist for the day to be for daughters only, so now sons are invited as well.
