    Default better note

Inzamam, who has been featuring in ODIs since 1991 and played a stellar role in their epic World Cup triumph in 1992 under the legendary Imran Khan, said he would have liked to retire on a better note from ODIS.

"But it is not an impulsive or emotional decision. I had decided to retire from ODIs after the World Cup," said the 37-year-old from Multan.

"I hope to finish my Test career on a better note," said Inzamam.

What does `better note' mean in this context?

    Please explain it.

    Default Re: better note

A note is a mark, quality, or indication of something, the sign of a particular quality or emotion, a characteristic emotional quality. To end one’s career on a better note means to end one’s career on a better score, mark or quality.
