Default word dividing

Good late evening,
I am a foreigner (Slovakia concretely) and learning English. I would like to know what my teacher couldnīt explain me and it is: How to divide words at the end of the line?
Please could you show me how this secret works?
Thanks

Well, it's not a secret. You divide words between syllables. Example:
My name is Onymous. I am learn-
