Smile attitude vs bias

Among the following 3 sentences, why is only the third one right?
Newspapers vary greatly in their opinion to the government.
Newspapers vary greatly in their attitude to the government.
Newspapers vary greatly in their bias to the government.

i check the dictionary. It says that all are countable nouns. Is there any solid explanation to this dilemma? Or is it somewhat related with newpaper or habitual usage?

Really hope you could help me out.
