ESL Professional Interview
Teacher’s Name:

School:

Subject(s)/Grade(s) taught:

  • Can you tell me about what led you to the teaching profession, and a little about your background in teaching, including number of years teaching?
  • What teaching methods have you found to be most/least effective?
  • Can you give me examples of how you modify instruction for a variety of learners?
  • How well prepared were you for the range of abilities in a single class (gifted-disabled)?
  • How has technology changed how you teach and how you communicate with students?
  • How much time in your school day is allotted for planning?
  • Is this time sufficient and how does the amount of time for planning change from year-to-year?
  • Developing positive relationships with both parents and students is necessary for teachers. Can you give me insight in establishing those relationships?
  • What advice (that you wish someone had given you) would you give to a first-year teacher?
  • What makes you keep coming back? (An example of a rewarding situation, etc.)
