Default in any full sense

"The fact that this is probably,in any full sense, imossible ,should not deter us from try it on."
Please clarify this for me ? If it is "in any full sense" impossible , why he says " probably" ? what does "in any full sense" mean here?

Without fuller context, it is difficult to analyse the content of this, but "in any full sense" = in a complete way.

should not deter us from try it on. is meaningless.
