What does it mean to be blown off track?

"You are gonna get blown off track a bit, you don't know quite what territories you're going to go through because simply until that material comes in you've got no idea."

Does it mean to get on the wrong track, or perhaps to be surprised or...

A bit of both. 'You will be forced off track by an unexpected (or unexpectedly violent) event'.
