the differences between will and going to

i just want to know gramatically what are the differences between going to and will coz some times i get confused with them and i don't know which one is the right one to use....

Will is an idea, or a response.

"I know what to do! I will buy a new camera!" idea
"The phones ringing, I will answer it!" response


Going to is a plan or you have evidence

"I have asked for time off work because I am going to Phuket" plan
"Look at the clouds. I think it is going to rain." evidence
