Question Literature in the EFL classroom

Hello everyone
I have a request. Could you tell me how often do teachers in your country use literature in EFL classroom?(China,Japan,France,Germany etc.. The country doesn't matter ) Is the method of using literature, short stories or storytelling popular or unpopular in your country? Why? Because of the limited access to proper books, materials, limited lesson time or something else? It's the "ask a teacher forum" so I hope you will help me
Help me please. You don't have to write at length. Every answer counts even the shortest one.
Thank you
Greetings

Generally, where I am, very little, The reason given is that the students don't know enough to understand it.

Personally I use literature, or at least stories, about once a week. I believe that exposure to good sentences is useful at any level, and showing students the difference between good sentences and bad ones is useful at higher levels. It is a sort of 'spot the error' exercise in reverse.

I too haven't seen literature used much. I think that it is has a lot to do with a perceived irrelevance to students' needs.
