usage of word "dignified"

i have learned that the word "dignified" can be used to describe

someone's personality. so, i'm curious that if i use this word to

somebody who is very quite, shy, introvert.

for example, if i say "he/she is dignified boy/girl" or "you are difnifed,"

is it rude? or will it annoy them?

i usually say these things ("you are bla~bla~") to the other in

converstaions with friends that i have known recently, which

means i'm not so much close to them. where i live, it doesn't

make problems to speak these things. (well it depends on the

situations. :) )

I usually (often?) say these things ("you are bla~bla~") to the others in conversations with friends that I have just got to know, which means I'm not very close to them. Where I live, it's no problem to say these things. (well it depends on the situations. :) )

Telling someone that he's dignified can never be rude because it's a positive quality. However, the fact that someone is quiet, shy and introvert doesn't necessarily mean that he is dignified. You could say that this person is 'reserved' which is a nice way of saying 'shy and introvert'.
