Once again a question for my novel.
Does France have gourds and something like Indian Corn.
I know they don't celebrate Thanksgiving but need to put something they would use at this time of the year in November.
Thanks A.A.
France can grow maize, but regards it as an animal food. It also can and does grow gourds, but they are not native.
What role do they play in the book? Can the vegetables ba anything?
Hey Anglika, Thanks for your quick response. I can count on you every time. Tell me again where you are writing from.
It is so cold here, in Kentucky, today, very gloomy also. Sooo, have been into my novel again.
Thanks again.
Allie
Hi Allie - have a look at this for pumpkins in France: Pumpkin Recipes from France
November is the month in which the Beaujolais Nouveau (wine made in the current year) is launched.
I did go to this sight Anglika. Got the french words for pumpkin pie which was very helpful. Also the copied the description for an appetizer - Chaussons au Portiron. I will mention those in my book.
Thanks again.
Allie
