I have a doubt. When you're talking about football (or soccer) you say: Liverpool is three goals behind, right ? but when You want to say in spoken english that Liverpool is winning 3-0 how do you say that ? Liverpool is over three ? :S please, help me !!

Liverpool is three goals ahead.

"Liverpool are three-nil up."

And when they're losing:

"Liverpool are three-nil down."

A common American way to say this is "They are up by three."
