Default Discrimination related to HIV and AIDS

The work place can become an environment for discrimination. HIV/AIDS has become an area of concern; South Africa has adjusted its legal framework in a number of ways to reduce the impact of stigma and discrimination related to HIV and AIDS.

Provide a brief synopsis of laws that govern the way employers need to treat issues of HIV in the workplace. We suggest you focus on what the Constitution says, Labour relations Act as well as the Employment Equity Act. You may also mention Codes of Good practice, Occupational Health and Safety Act and others that you may have come across.

Homework? This is a forum to discuss language issues. I am from the UK and have no idea about the system in South Africa.

This looks like a homework question. If it is, we don't do homework for people, but we can help answer any questions you might have about it. If you have any problems writing your answer, please ask.

Regards,

Help to understand how I can do this essay. Is difficult to me understand, especially the laws to use and the rules. What can I do with this question.

I'm not sure what your laws are, but I imagine taht they are broadly similar to ours. Here, you cannot dismiss someone for being HIV positive, nor can you deny them access to employment on those grounds. I also belive that a person has the right of privacy and doesn't need to informemployers. the basic idea is to prevent people from being dismissed unfairly, having their opportunities restricted, or being forced to make the status public.;-0
