Default kindly request...

sir,

Greetings from Chintu. I am an English lover.I've some doubts in the usage of some words, which I write below.

1) I kindly request you to give away the prizes
2) I request you to kindly give away the prizes

In the above sentences, which is grammatically more correct?

One of the authorities told me to avoid the first usage, but he didn't give me the explanation. Please clarify my doubt.

Thank you very much for your co-operation

with regards chintu

.
I much prefer the first. The adverb should be placed near the referent, and it is the request that is kind, not the giving of prizes.
