Default Vocabulary

In Malaysia,it is important for a student to use as much as many vocabs to get merits in his or her essays.

For examples,
Using lethargic, fatigue or dead beat instead of using tired.
Using fly into a fury, beside oneself with anger, livid instead of using angry.

Now my problem is where can I find all these difficult words which are hardly used by a student in any webside?

Any suggestion?

You should buy advanced ESL books.
Try and look for SAT and GRE word lists on the Internet - these are american exams, and many native speakers in their eighteens don't have that strong a vocabulary (all things being equal), eg. when it comes to formal synonyms.

Hi,there! I use a "Dictionary of Difficult Words" which I bought from a local bookstore. It has helped me a lot in understanding "heavy" words.
