I work in a company, and when I want my boss or manager to do something for me I write " Mr. X. You are kindly requested to do .....".
My question is: Is it possible for me to ask them to do something for me by writing,
1- Mr. X. Could you possibly do ........?
2- Mr. X. Would you mind doing .........?
3- Mr. X. Is it possible for you to do ......?
I find it strange to ask them to do something by writing a question. In addition, I've never read such requests.
Are there any alternatives that can be used instead of my very-much-repeated structure.
Many thanx in advance.
I don't see what's wrong with making a request by using a question. Your question would only be rhetorical, you would still get your point across and it would sound polite. I do it all the time.
Hope this helps!![]()
