should light always be plural . if it's singular it would the bright thing not the things we use at home, right/

my bike has no light on it
my bike has no lights on it

there is a traffic light or there is a traffic lights because there are three color lights

A bike normally has two lights, so the plural makes sense. Traffic light and traffic lights are both used.
