Default creating modifying phrases

Hi! Teachers.

When transforming the given sentence into a modifying phrase, which one is correct between A) and B) ? I'm confusing.
And also I'd like to know this kind of modifying using 'there' is prevalent.

As there were no survivors, the exact cause will never be known.

A): There being no survivors, the exact cause will never be known.
B): There having been no survivors, the exact cause will never be known.

Thanks in advance.

You could use both, though the first sounds more natural to me. I wouldn't say that this structure is 'prevalent', but it is used, mostly in formal writing.
