| Can I use the expression "Nice to talk to you" on the phone in the beginning of talks when I first call someone? If not, what can I say? Thank you in advance and have a nice day. Last edited by norae99; 25-Apr-2007 at 00:00. |

| Well, it depends if this is a person who is your friend, or from whom you want a favor, or what. Sometimes it's "Is this a good time to talk?" or "Thank you for taking my call." Very generally, though, what you have suggested is better for the end of the conversation, with a slight modifcation - "It was nice talking to you." |
