Default He says "I am an orthodox".

Orthodox : holding correct views.

If someone said ""I am an orthodox" than what it means. How someone can be so sure about his views? what exactly the meaning of this sentence. ?

First of all, most people believe that their views are correct. If they did not, they would change those views. One can get carried away with this, however.

Second, orthodoxy has more to do with following established tradition than correctness.

or·tho·dox (ôr'thə-dŏks')
adj.

1. Adhering to the accepted or traditional and established faith, especially in religion.

2. Adhering to the Christian faith as expressed in the early Christian ecumenical creeds.

3. Orthodox (capitalized)
a. Of or relating to any of the churches or rites of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
b. Of or relating to Orthodox Judaism.

4. Adhering to what is commonly accepted, customary, or traditional: an orthodox view of world affairs.

Without more context, I'd most likely assume it referred to Orthodox Christianity or Judaism.

If the indefinite article was intended, I agree with that.
