| According to my Oxford dictionary, which sometimes seems misleading, the verb mend is used in BrE while Webster makes no reference to that. I was wondering if mend and the idiom 'on the mend' is used in AmE. "An impromptu hug hinted that the troubled relationship between them was on the mend." "He believes the economy's really on the mend." "His leg is definitely on the mend now." Thank you! |
