Im writing a story. Need help with some spelling

Is this scentence right?

I remember the day, the day i would have forgotten

my microsoft word says this is wrong is it? "My 8th birthday"

It should be I. The second is fine. Spellchecks cannot always be relied on- they are very useful, but not perfect. Does it say that 8th is wrong? If so, you can stop that by opening the Settings for Spelling and telling it to ignore words with numbers.
