1-John and three cousins went out to a bar last night.
Can't this sentence mean two things (depending on the context):
a-John and three of my cousins went out to a bar last night.
b-John and three of his cousins went out to a bar last night.
Without context, the first one, a- my cousins, isn't possible; the second one, b-his cousins, is possible, and then there's a third interpretation: the three cousins are not related to John or me/you. They're just three cousins.
