Default What do you play cards on?

What do you call the kind of "mat" you unfold on a table to play cards on?

Is it a countable noun eg. "A felt table cover would be nice" ?

I've never seen one. There are purpose-built folding tables called 'card-tables'. They are covered with a felt-like often green material called 'baize'. baize: Definition and Much More from Answers.com

    Here's one

Yes, but since it is more convenient to use a "general-purpose" table (say, the kitchen one), there are things like mats that you can roll (or fold) and carry over at your buddy's place, so as to play on felt, even if it's not a real gaming table. How is the stuff-you-can-roll called?

I keep "table felt" for now - if someone has another suggestion...

I suggest roll-up mat used as a travel accessory . I noticed that mat is the word used for the French tapis in the field of gambling a small size lay-out . which differs from the huge gambling table (tapis vert)

I grant that roll-up mat could have other functions roll-up mat for pets ....

As a matter of fact , ths felt card table cover is close to the object you describe. It must be the best translation even though the French 'tapis' I have in mind is slightly different in shape and use. This little mat is commonly rolled-up and has no elastic bands. Thus, this difference must have a cultural cause.
