    Default didn't don't

I'm talking about yesterday to my boss today

"I showed me friends around town yesterday. but

I didn't know how, so I called my other friend to help me.

    shoud I say

I don't know how, so i called my other friend to help me."

Is it didn't or don't. even today i still don't know so it's true even in the present. but this is only concerning about the past because I'm talking about the past

It's a good idea to keep the same tense all the way through:

"I wanted to show me friends around town yesterday, but I didn't know how, so I called my other friend to help me."

    All the best.
