I'm really happy with this forum... I thank God that He brought me here. I really appreciate those people answering my questions and also the unexpected corrections I'm receiving!
Application:
I want to be a doctor like I wanted before.
Good try, but it doesn't work:
Ex: I want to be a doctor like I wanted before.
Try again.![]()

Maybe one or more of these will work:
1. I still want to be a doctor like I wanted before.
2. I want to be a doctor as I wanted before.
3. I want to be a doctor which I wanted before.
What about, I've always wanted to be a doctor?![]()
But when you are going to base on grammar, what are my mistakes from the three examples I gave above?
Your suggestion really helps me a lot :)
[1] I want to be a doctor, just like my sister. <like + noun>
[2] I want to be a doctor, as I wanted to before. <as + subject + verb>
[3] I want to be a doctor, which is what I wanted before.
Does that help?![]()
Yes it helped me.
Now I'm much more interested in studying English...
Mabuhay !!!
Casiopea, you're my hero!
OFF TOPIC: Is your nickname supposed to refer to Japanese Jazz Band
(here)
Or is it related to Cassiopeia, the constellation?
That's been bothering me for a while. I would bet the constellation, am I right?![]()
