Upon obtaining

1)Is this sentence correct:

I was made an offer from Liverpool University 'upon' obtaining 300 points from 3 A levels


Is upon used correctly in this sentence or shoud I replace it with another word?


2) I contacted the other university 'from which I am holding an offer'...

Is it correct to say 'from which I am holding an offer'?

1 'upon obtaining' would mean 'when I obtained': Upon obtaining my driver's licence, I drove everywhere.

Rather, say "I was made an offer from Liverpool University dependent on 300 points from 3 A levels"
